Data Deletion Instructions
At Edu Reminder Ltd., we fully support the Right to be Forgotten under GDPR, CCPA, and global digital consumer privacy standards. Because we value your privacy, we have designed data deletion to be fast, absolute, and entirely controlled by the user.
Permanent Deletion Warning: Deleting your application data or removing your Google Drive sync backup is permanent and irreversible. We do not keep copies of your diaries, photos, or drawings on our servers, so deleted data cannot be recovered by our support team.
1. Overview of Data Sovereignty
Because My Diary - Life Journal is designed as a secure, offline-first application:
No Database Account Required: You do not create a proprietary account on our servers.
100% Personal Custody: We do not keep, index, or store your text journals, mood metrics, or photo media on our servers. Therefore, you do not need to contact our team to delete your records; you have direct, absolute control to erase them yourself instantly.
2. Step-by-Step Data Erasure Instructions
To completely and permanently delete all your diaries, photos, settings, and tokens, follow these three steps:
Step 1: Shred all Local Device Data
This deletes all entries, passcodes, and local files stored on your phone's memory.
Open your device Settings.
Navigate to Apps (or Apps & Notifications) > My Diary (or My Diary - Life Journal).
Tap on Storage (or Storage & Cache).
Tap Clear Storage (or Clear Data).
Confirm the deletion. This immediately deletes the local encrypted SQL database and cache files.
Step 2: Delete Google Drive Sync Backups
If you enabled the Google Drive Auto-Sync feature, you must delete the cloud backup directory:
Log into your Google Drive via a web browser or the mobile app.
Search for the hidden application folder My Diary (or the folder created by the app for database backups).
Right-click or long-press on the folder and select Remove (Move to Trash).
Go to your Google Drive Trash and select Empty Trash to permanently purge the database blocks.
(Optional) To completely revoke the app's authorization to write to your Drive, go to Google Account Settings > Security > Third-party apps with account access, select My Diary, and click Remove Access.
To delete the anonymous push notification token and diagnostic tracking IDs associated with your device:
Simply clearing storage (Step 1) or uninstalling the app from your device immediately invalidates and deletes the FCM token from Google's Firebase messaging servers.
This action also permanently removes your unique installation identifier and local diagnostic caches from Google Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics tracking.
3. Data Retention Boundaries
Once the steps above are completed:
Immediate Deletion: 100% of your diary content, pictures, drawings, and tokens are deleted.
No Cache Retention: We retain zero server backups, logs, or recovery files. Your digital footprint is completely wiped, ensuring absolute privacy.
