This Privacy Policy describes how Ruh-ul Muslim - Deen, Islamic (developed and maintained by Edu Reminder, Rangpur, Bangladesh) handles your information. We are committed to transparency and the absolute protection of your privacy.

Except for the limited data needed for app functionality, notifications, analytics, and crash reporting as described below, we do not collect or sell personal data.

1. Data Collection and Notifications

To provide you with timely Islamic updates, book announcements, and essential reminders, we collect minimal device-specific information:

• FCM Registration Token: A unique, temporary token from Google Firebase used as a "digital address" to send notifications to your device.
• Android ID: A unique identifier used to differentiate unique app installations and prevent duplicate alerts.
• Privacy & Security: This data is stored securely in our private database, is never shared with third parties, and is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS during transmission.

2. Firebase Analytics and Crash Reporting

To improve app quality and user experience, Ruh-ul Muslim uses:

• Firebase Analytics: Helps us understand overall feature usage (for example: screen views, app engagement, and basic device/app metadata).
• Firebase Crashlytics: Helps us detect, diagnose, and fix app crashes and performance issues.

Data processed by these services may include:

• Device and app information (device model, OS version, app version)
• Approximate technical diagnostics (timestamps, crash logs, stack traces)
• Usage events in aggregate form

Important notes:

• We do not use Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics to directly identify you by name, email, or phone number.
• Data is processed by Google Firebase infrastructure according to Google's privacy and security standards.
• We use this data only for app improvement, stability, and performance monitoring.

3. Permissions and Data Usage

To provide an accurate and functional Islamic experience, the Ruh-ul Muslim app requires specific permissions on your device. Below is a detailed explanation of why we use them:

• Location Access (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Used to calculate highly accurate prayer times (Salat) and determine the Qibla direction based on your current coordinates.

  • Privacy Note: This data is processed locally; we do not track movement or store location history.
• Media and Audio Access (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO): Allows the app to manage Quranic audio files, enabling you to download recitations for offline listening.
• Notifications and Alarms (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT): Essential for delivering Adhan (Call to Prayer) alerts. The Full-Screen Intent allows prayer alerts to appear on your lock screen for immediate awareness.
• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK): Ensures Quranic audio or the Adhan continues to play smoothly even if you switch apps or turn off your screen.
• System Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Used to display the "Overlay UI" (such as prayer time reminders or dhikr counters) over other applications for convenient access.
• Device Management (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK, VIBRATE):

  • Boot Completed: Reschedules prayer alarms automatically if you restart your phone.
  • Wake Lock: Ensures Adhan sounds correctly even if the device is in deep sleep mode.
  • Vibrate: Provides haptic feedback for the Tasbeeh counter.
• Network Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS): Required for initial setup to download prayer data, stream Quran audio, and ensure the Adhan service is not interrupted by system battery savers.

4. Locally Stored Information

The following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Gender Selection: Used solely to customize Salah (prayer) positions/guides.
• City/Country Choice: Used to load the correct offline prayer time database.
• Daily Goals & Tasbeeh Counts: Your spiritual progress remains private on your local storage.

5. Children's Privacy (Minimum Age: 13)

Ruh-ul Muslim does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our target audience is users aged 13 and above. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately from the local device context where possible.

6. Third-Party Services and Content

Our app uses the following third-party services/content providers:

• Google Firebase (for notifications, analytics, and crash reporting)

7. Data Safety & Security (Google Play Services)

We comply with Google Play's Data Safety requirements:

• Data Collected: Device identifiers (FCM Token, Android ID), app diagnostics (crash logs), and analytics events.
• Purpose: App functionality, developer communications, app analytics, and crash/performance monitoring.
• Security: Communication with Firebase/Google Play services is encrypted in transit.
• Deletion: You can request manual removal of your device identifier by contacting us via email.
