Data Deletion Instructions

At Edu Reminder Ltd., we firmly respect the "Right to be Forgotten" as mandated under GDPR, CCPA, and Google Play Console Developer Data Safety policies. We believe user data ownership must be absolute, transparent, and completely reversible at any time.

1. Overview of Data Footprint

Because Al Quran – القرآن الكريم is built on a privacy-first, offline-first paradigm, user data exists only in two locations:

1. Local Device Sandbox: Your personal verse notes, reading bookmarks, pinned ayahs, reading progress trackers (Surah, Juz, Page, and Hizb), downloaded Quran recitations, and cached Islamic books (PDFs) are saved directly in your mobile device's private SQLite/Room database.
2. Personal Google Drive (Cloud Sync Users): If you enabled cloud sync with your Google Account, a single encrypted backup bundle (alquran_sync_data.json) resides inside your personal Google Drive hidden application folder (appDataFolder).
3. Zero Developer Server Footprint: Edu Reminder Ltd. maintains zero centralized user databases. We do not store, duplicate, or back up your personal records or credentials on external servers.

2. Step-by-Step Data Erasure Guide

To ensure complete, permanent erasure of all data associated with your use of Al Quran, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: In-App Disconnect & Local Device Storage Cleansing

To immediately wipe all local databases, cached audio, Tafseer indices, and personal notes:

1. Open your Android device Settings.
2. Navigate to Apps (or Apps & notifications) > select Al Quran.
3. Tap Storage & cache (or Storage).
4. Tap Clear Storage (or Clear Data), then tap OK to confirm.
5. (Alternative) Simply uninstalling the Al Quran application automatically deletes its local sandboxed SQLite database and all cached files from your device.

Step 2: Permanently Delete Google Drive Cloud Sync Backups

If you authenticated with Google and utilized cloud synchronization, your backup bundle is safely stored in your private Google Drive's hidden app data space. To permanently shred this cloud backup:

1. On a desktop or mobile browser, visit Google Drive and log in with the same Google Account used in the app.
2. Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right corner and select Settings.
3. In the left navigation menu, click Manage Apps.
4. Scroll down through the connected applications list to find Al Quran.
5. Click the Options drop-down button next to Al Quran.
6. Select Delete hidden app data.
7. Confirm the prompt. Google Drive will immediately and permanently erase the sync file from your cloud account.

Step 3: Revoke Google Account Access & OAuth Tokens

To permanently revoke Al Quran's authorization to access your Google Account:

1. Visit your Google Account Security Dashboard.
2. Under Third-party apps with account access, locate Al Quran.
3. Click on the app entry and click Delete all connections (or Remove Access).
4. This immediately revokes OAuth tokens and terminates any prospective communication between the app and your Google Account.

Step 4: Invalidate Push Notification Tokens (FCM)

To disconnect your device from Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) notifications:

• Disabling notifications in the app settings or via Android system settings (Settings > Apps > Al Quran > Notifications > Turn Off) halts all push notifications.
• Once the app is uninstalled or application storage is cleared, the temporary FCM registration token is automatically invalidated by Google Firebase servers.

3. Data Retention Boundaries

Because Edu Reminder Ltd. operates under a zero-custody data model:

• No Server Residuals: We retain zero database copies, shadow records, or telemetry backups on our systems once you clear your local device and Google Drive storage.
• Irreversible Purge: Once you execute the steps above, all traces of your reading history, notes, and memorization progress are permanently annihilated across all endpoints.
